iogames.space is a portal that displays hundreds of io games that are free to play. Creators may upload thei completed games to the website, which is often their first major foray into the community. The website also has a voting system, whereby the games with the most upvotes are considered the best games. Iogames.space also organizes games into categories. Often, the creators put their games into the wrong categories, or into none at all, but this is usually fixed within a week. The games are hosted by their respective servers and played through iogames.space's servers, which can cause minor lag.

Overview[]

Iogames.space was founded by its creator, Michael Tromba, in June 2016.[1] It is an internet portal designed to find little-known io games that may be fun to play and bringing them to the rest of the io gaming community. In two years, the website attracted over 28 million unique visitors. The website is licensed as a for-profit LLC.

Purpose[]

Iogames.space's stated purpose is to "bring exposure to these awesome .io games that oftentimes go unnoticed."[2] This is due to the fact that all .io games, with some exceptions, are standalone games, and thus are not connected to other games. Some developers that create multiple games often do connect them in some way, but most games (such as Agar.io, Diep.io, and Slither.io) do not have links to other games.

Bringing exposure to these new games is one of the reasons why iogames.space is so successful. With millions of players playing these games, bringing them all together, introducing them to new games, and encouraging them to think outside the box is what has made the website so successful.
