Shapez.io (pronounced like "shapes.io") is a resource collection game created by Tobias Springer that is a demo version of a paid game available on Steam. Shapez.io is not multiplayer, though there is the ability to save the game for later. It was released by Tobias Springer on 21 May 2020.
Gameplay[]
Shapez.io is played similarly to games like Yorg.io, with towers, factories, etc, but is a peaceful game with no enemies to fight. There is no multiplayer function. There are a number of keybinds corresponding to various functions.

Upgrades[]
One cannot upgrade building manually, but can upgrade the speed at which all buildings work. These may be unlocked and reviewed by clicking the star icon at the top right of the screen. 5 tiers may be unlocked, which speed the process up to 5 times normal speed.
Shapes and colors[]
There are a number of shapes and colors that can be extracted and mixed/stacked with others. As one leaves the immediate center, shape and color regions become much larger, and shape regions can produce unique shapes. Each shape has four pieces arranged in a square, and each color is three overlapping circles. Any shape region can have more than one type of shape making up the main shape. There are 24 unique possible shapes and 6 possible colors obtained through the Stacker and the Color Mixer, respectively.

Standalone[]
Upgrading to the paid version on Steam allows for much more versatility as well as new features. Notably, wires can connect supplies to buildings without needing long conveyer belts. Wires can be used to automate nearly every task more efficiently.
Other features include more than one layer (past level 20, the Wires Layer unlocks), longer soundtrack, and more levels. The game is regularly updated, with most features being added only to the standalone game. However, the game costs $4.99 on Steam.
