Slither.io is a popular game that was one of the earliest .io games. It caused many other similar snake-games to be created like Wormate.io and LittleBigSnake.io.

Slither.io is a game where the player is a snake that is always moving that gains mass from eating orbs around the map. The player can also boost to help kill other players though doing so cause the player to lose mass and leaves a trail of orbs behind the player. Players are killed by running into another snake which will kill the snake and spawn lots of orbs where the snake died. The player can also die from running into the border which Leaves no orbs behind. There are additional skins that the player can give their snake.
